I was born in Marilândia-ES Brazil, on March 30th, 1980. I have received both my Master degree in Computer Science and my Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Brazil. I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Twente, the Netherlands, in 2013. I am currently an Assistant Professor with a temporary contract (RTDa) at the Telecommunication Networks Group in the Politecnico di Torino, in Italy.

Short Bio:

Dr. Idilio Drago is an Assistant Professor at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications. His current research interests include Internet measurements, quality of experience and network security. He is particularly interested on how big data and data science techniques can help to extract knowledge from traffic data and help securing the network and automating network management tasks. Drago has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Twente, the Netherlands, and a Master’s degree from the Federal University of Espirito Santo, Brazil. He was awarded an Applied Networking Research Prize in 2013 by the IETF/IRTF for his work on cloud storage traffic analysis. He is now a member of the SmartData@PoliTO Center in the Politecnico di Torino, a research center in which more than 30 students, professors, and researchers are working on big data and data science applications.
