Daniela Renga graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2004 at the Università degli Studi di Torino. After working as a physician at the Pediatric Hospital OIRM in Torino until 2009, she received her Master degree in Computer and Communication Networks Engineering in 2014 and her Ph.D in Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering in 2018, both from Politecnico di Torino.
She is now assistant professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino.

Her research activity is currently focused on the following areas of interest:

  •     Energy efficient wireless networks (renewable powered networks, radio resource management, machine learning for energy efficiency)
  •     Energy efficient distributed data centers (renewable powered data centers, load balancing approaches based on virtual machine profiling)
  •     Wireless networks interacting with the Smart Grid and new business models in Smart Urban Ecosystems
  •     Non-terrestrial networks in 5G/6G scenarios (aerial network nodes for communication, edge computing and edge caching)
  •     Network modeling
  •     Self-sustainable energy communities
